Diamond Head
Big Daddy Aloha, My name is Mark “Big Daddy” Shaw, Original stomping ground Buffalo N.Y., I grew up the third of eight children. Raised by my Mom and the community and was the first to graduate from High School. After graduating from High School, I joined the Army to see the world. Spent only three years at Fort Campbell, Kentucky and decided not to re-enlist. Just one year after returning home, my childhood sweetheart and I got married. Then she joined the Army and we moved to Hawaii.

Living in Hawaii for the past 20 years has challenged me to grow into the man that I am today. Starting off in the transportation industry, I learned the island inside and out as a truck driver; first delivering to the Navy Exchange and then driving for Port-a-Pak refuse; and finally as a cement-mixer driver for Hawaiian Cement. During temporary layoffs with Hawaiian Cement, I became a car salesman by working at JN Automotive and then Mike Salta Pontiac.

Not willing to accept any more layoffs and with no advancement opportunities in the car Sales business, I then turned to the rent-to own industry. With this proving to be my calling, I excelled as a Manager for Canyon rent-to-own. I was then recruited by ColorTyme Rent to Own and I now run the Number One ColorTyme store in the nation with annual revenue of over two-million dollars.

The Buffalo Soldiers M/C has been an excellent experience bringing to the forefront of my mind and providing the community a visual reminder (each time we ride) of the struggles that we as a black people have endured.
